That line about Yeshua not inventing something new but revealing what the meal had always meant stuck with me. It shifted the Last Supper from being a moment I recognize to something much more intentional and connected.
The covenant feels more fatherly to me, more secure than even marriage. I guess because people do divorce, and sometimes with good reason, but a heavenly father is a more than a partnership. A father has a life before my birth and is wiser than me and committed to my best interests as in a covering. I am his blood. There's no breaking blood. My human father was certainly not perfect, but he adored me and I knew it. Maybe that's why I have this leaning.
i also like to share with folks that "Easter" and/or "Resurrection Day", is Biblically described as the Day of Firstfruits occurring after Passover and during the Days of Unleavened Bread. i've found it to be an interesting study, especially discovering that Pharisees & Sadducees had some major disagreements upon certain aspects of this appointed time... and it's OK. ;-)
I would love to share this with my children but they do not have substack so I’m afraid they won’t be able to access it. Is this article on your website, also?
When someone tells me they love me, my assumption is that they have my best interests at heart.
You are one of the few my brother that truly extends that hand!
Blessings!!!
Love ya brother 👊
